'Homeland' Fans Are Upset About Quinn, Again, After Season 6 Finale
Hey, remember how sad, angry, and confused "Homeland" fans were at the end of Season 5? Many are feeling the same way after the Season 6 finale. This time, however, there's less confusion about the fate of Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend). Unless ... should we even go there?
The Season 5 finale initially looked like The End for Quinn, but he was back in Season 6, and made it to the finale. Then he definitely did die. Or at least we think he did. He was shot to death while driving Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and POTUS-elect Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) to safety. The story time-jumped six weeks ahead, with Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) referencing Quinn's memorial service.
Fans jumped in with reactions, as usual, with many saying -- again -- that they were "disappointed" with "Homeland" for killing off Quinn, calling it "a big mistake," with a few saying they were "done" with "Homeland." Very similar to the sentiments from last year, with several fans wishing for more from Carrie and Quinn.

#Homeland@SHO_Homeland I know what you did with that creaky floor...Quinn is still around, you can't kill the best part of the show.

Come on #Homeland. You've done death/funerals before.Trash bags? Even Frank Mathison got a better send off. This was disrespectful to Quinn.

Why would #Homeland let us think Quinn died last season, then bring him back just to kill him again this Season? This season sucked anyway

Showrunner Alex Gansa talked to The Hollywood Reporter about why Quinn didn't die last year, but there's nothing about Quinn continuing in Season 7 or Season 8, which is the final season. Here's what Gansa did say about the direction of the final seasons:
"We're trying to figure out how to bring this show in for a landing, and we have two seasons to do it. We'll probably be overseas again for the majority of seasons seven and eight. We are faced with the task, again, of getting our lead character Carrie Mathison back into the intelligence community. She's been outside that business for too long. And I think we've exhausted the storytelling around that idea. We're going to have to get her back and we're hoping to send her on a mission overseas."
