Here's the First Look at Johnny Flynn as Davie Bowie in 'Stardust' Biopic
A first look image from the David Bowie biopic "Stardust" reveals rising actor Johnny Flynn as the iconic singer.
The British film is set in 1971 and follows the 24-year-old Bowie as he embarks on his first road trip to America and creates his legendary Ziggy Stardust character. He's supported by publicist Ron Oberman (Marc Maron) and wife Angie (Jena Malone).
"Stardust" is described as a "moment in time film" more than a biopic. As such, it will use period music songs that the musician covered, not his original tracks.
The film comes from director Gabriel Range ("I Am Slave") and writer Christopher Bell (Netflix’s "The Last Czars").
Flynn recently starred in Michael Pearce’s drama “Beast” and Amazon's adaptation of “Vanity Fair."
