New 'Handmaid's Tale' Season 2 Teaser Asks What the Actual F--- Is Going On
Happy International Women's Day. Now, what the f---?
That's the message in the new teaser for "The Handmaid's Tale" Season 2. The Emmy-winning drama returns for its sophomore season with two episodes on April 25. The series is now going off-book from Margaret Atwood's dystopian tale and will focus on Offred's (Elisabeth Moss) pregnancy and the ongoing fight against Gilead's oppressive culture of sexual slavery.
The teaser encapsulates the dehumanizing life of a handmaid, from wearing the red dress and the white head wings to spreading her legs at command.
Showrunner Bruce Miller has also said the season will explore the world outside Gilead, including the refugees in Canada and the exiles of the Colonies.
Season 2 will introduce many new faces, including Cherry Jones as Offred's mother; Clea Duvall as the wife of Ofglen (Alexis Bledel); Bradley Whitford as Commander Joseph Lawrence; and Marisa Tomei in an undefined role.
