'Grey's Anatomy' Season 14 Will Have a Dinner Party With 'Family Controversy'
It's almost time for another "Grey's Anatomy" dinner party from hell.
"Grey's" Season 14 started Thursday, Sept. 28 with back-to-back episodes. Later this season, Debbie Allen (Catherine Avery) told TV Guide that Catherine and Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) will host a tense family dinner party.
"That dinner's going to heat up with family controversy, and differences of opinions about things. It's gonna be hot in the kitchen."
At least we know Richard will be coming home to his wife, after their estrangement over Eliza Minnick in Season 13. "Richard has finally brought his butt home, as he should have months ago," Allen said.
But it sounds like there's still some tension at home, and it will come to the surface at the family dinner party.
You have to imagine Catherine's son Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) will be there, and Richard's daughter Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary). It's possible "differences of opinion" emerge about Jackson and Maggie potentially dating, since the Season 13 finale left that door wide open. Will April Kepner (Sarah Drew) be there or stay home with baby Harriet?
"Grey's" is no stranger to heated dinner parties. Remember Season 12's "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" with Dr. Penelope Blake? Nothing will top that for awkwardness. Season 13 also had a dinner party in the emotional "Be Still, My Soul."
Season 14 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
