The firefighter spinoff of "Grey's Anatomy" has found a leading lady!

Deadline reports that Jaina Lee Ortiz, who starred on "Rosewood" for two seasons on Fox, has been cast in ABC's 10-episode midseason series.

The spinoff is set in a Seattle firehouse and follows the crew, from the captain down to the newest recruit. The characters are expected to be introduced this fall in an episode of "Grey's Anatomy," which would serve as a backdoor pilot.

Stacy McKee — who has worked on "Greys," "Scandal," and "How to Get Away With Murder" — will serve as showrunner, with Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Paris Barclay executive producing.

Ortiz starred as Detective Annalise Villa on "Rosewood," which was canceled by Fox after two seasons in May. She also recurs on USA's "Shooter."

The untitled firefighter series is the second spinoff of "Grey's Anatomy" after "Private Practice," which ran from 2007-2013.
