Did DeLuca do the right thing, the wrong thing, or no-thing at all? "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13, Episode 11 didn't really make Alex Karev's (Justin Chambers) fate that clear, although we have some ideas -- and several questions.

Alex was MIA for most of the episode, then Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) -- who had been searching everywhere for him -- happened to find him home in (her) bed. He wasn't in jail! Was he on the run from the law? Probably not. Toward the start of the hour, Meredith and Maggie (Kelly McCreary) discovered that Karev's case was postponed indefinitely, and they assumed that to mean he had taken a plea and was in jail. But in the same episode, Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) had a talk with DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) and he was surprised when she said she missed Alex, as if he wondered why Alex would be gone.

The obvious answer is that DeLuca dropped the charges. But if he did that, why the secrecy, and what happens next?

Why didn't Alex call and tell anyone (especially Mer) what happened? And why drop the charges now? DeLuca was the first to know the truth about Jo Wilson's (Camilla Luddington) past, so it's not like it's breaking news to him that she would be dragged into any trial. Maybe he thought Alex would just take the plea and do some time? Or maybe after cooling down he figured taking Alex out of the hospital would do more harm than good?

Fans love Alex waayyyy more than Jo or DeLuca, and many seem to think Alex has already been punished more than enough. But he did beat the crap out of DeLuca for misreading a scene that actually had nothing to do with him at all. Maybe Alex doesn't deserve more punishment, but DeLuca does deserve more fan love. (Especially since Jo does not seem to be into him at all.)

What's next for Alex? Will he get his job back and just return to work like nothing ever happened? Is Jo really pregnant with his child? If so, will they get back together? If not, will they still get back together? Should they get back together when she wasn't even there with Meredith and Maggie looking for Alex?

ABC's promo for the next episode picks up with Alex in bed as Meredith and Maggie try to get answers, but the synopses and photos don't show Alex at all, so it's hard to say what he'll do next, and how he'll patch things up with DeLuca, Jo, and everyone else at Grey Sloan.
