Moviefone speaks with Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry about 'Ginny & Georgia' Season 2. "We actually get to pick up right where we left off," Howey said.
Premiering on Netflix January 5th is the second season of the popular series ‘Ginny & Georgia,’ which was created by Sarah Lampert.
The series follows Ginny Miller (Antonia Gentry), a "15-year-old who is more mature than her 30-year-old mother,” Georgia (Brianne Howey).
Georgia decides to settle down in a New England town with her daughter and son Austin (Diesel La Torraca) to give them a better life than she had.
The series also stars Jennifer Robertson, Felix Mallard, Sara Waisglass, Scott Porter, and Raymond Ablack.

Moviefone: To begin with, Brianne, can you talk about where we find your character as season two begins?
Brianne Howey: We actually get to pick up right where we left off. It's only been two weeks. We are in the throes of the pain of Georgia learning that the children have left, that they've learned her enormous secret, and Georgia is at rock bottom.
MF: Antonia, where is Ginny when the new season begins?
Antonia Gentry: I do think there were some clues in season one as to where Ginny was headed, in the little book where he leaves his Boston address. So yes, it's quite a saving grace, I think, for Ginny to be able to escape to Zion (Nathan Mitchell) when she needs to. But I think we definitely do find them right in the thick of things. Ginny's very much at the bottom. She's at rock bottom, she's struggling, and it's a whole journey in season two. I would say, unfortunately this poor soul, is going through too much at once.
MF: Georgia has a lot going on this season including a wedding and a new job, can you talk about that?
BH: Georgia is the master of deception and distraction. I almost feel like she does it intentionally to be like, "Look over here." She is trying to join the neighborhood club, she's engaged and planning this very fancy, beautiful wedding. Paul (Scott Porter) moves in, and they take their relationship to the next level. They both learn secrets about each other that leads them to seek out some extra help, which is a brand-new experience for Georgia. Some self-reckoning there, and the beginning of a lot more awareness.
MF: Antonia, can you talk about Ginny’s relationship with Marcus (Felix Mallard) and where that’s headed this season?
AG: I think we really see them mature and evolve. They left off on uncertain terms, and they get back together under uncertain terms. But then they have a bond that's extremely strong and they'll always have a love for each other. But because they get so close and then you see them have to deal with these challenges, it's a very heart-wrenching experience as an audience member to be rooting for them the whole time. But still hold your breath because anything goes, and anything can happen.
I think by the of the season, the way we see their relationship evolve is even more heartwarming. Because then you know that they can truly be there for each other no matter what happens. So, I think that's most important. She has a lot of relationships she needs to patch up. I think out of that though, out of the dissipation, almost, Ginny finds new friendships. I love that she is expanding on her own.
Even though she is on her own, she's still making new friends, and even some unlikely friends that you wouldn't think she would become close to, she does. So, it's really fun to see that she doesn't have that safety net, and she really has to create one for herself. But then, of course, it all works out.
MF: Finally, Brianne, with a series like this, do you receive all the scripts at once so you know your character’s full arc for the entire season, or do you only receive the scripts episode to episode?
BH: No, we don't have all the scripts. We find out the details script by script, but we do know the arc going into it, of course. We talk with the creator and the showrunner and we know the bigger picture of everything, absolutely. But then the scripts give us the actual detail on, "How do we arrive in that exact moment".
