Geena Davis Joins 'GLOW' Season 3 as Former Showgirl
"Glow" is welcoming Geena Davis into the ring.
The cast of the Netflix dramedy is adding the Academy Award winner in Season 3 as Sandy Devereaux St. Clair, a former showgirl turned entertainment director of the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino.
Season 3 follows the GLOW ladies as they leave L.A. for the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip, where they are headliners at the Fan-Tan. Ruth (Alison Brie) is still the group's optimistic cheerleader, but her passion for the show begins to take a backseat to her growingly complicated personal life.
Meanwhile, Debbie (Betty Gilpin) continues to fight her corner as a producer but feels tremendous guilt for leaving behind her son. As their residency wears on, the cast find themselves struggling with their own identities both in and outside of the ring.
In recent years, Davis has moved into TV acting, appearing on "Grey's Anatomy" and voicing Huntara in "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power." She will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at next year's Oscars.
Netflix released several sneak peek images from the third season. Davis's casting announcement also came with a photo of the actress sporting some serious '80s hair and clothing (see the full pic below).
All 10 episodes of "GLOW" Season 3 debut August 9 on Netflix.
