'Game of Thrones' star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is a hunter being hunted in the trailer for 'The Silencing'
In the upcoming film 'The Silencing,' Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister from 'Game of Thrones') plays a man living in the wilderness who may be able to help the local sheriff track down a killer. And this killer is armed with something we don't see all that often in the movies - an atlatl, a type of spear-thrower.
Here's the official synopsis:
A reformed hunter (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and a sheriff (Annabelle Wallis) are caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse when they set out to track a killer who may have kidnapped the hunter’s daughter five years ago.
From what we see in the trailer, the film will have plenty of jumps, especially because the killer's choice of weapon allows for a lot less noise than any firearm or even a bow. And a silent killer is certainly in line with the film's title.
'The Silencing' will be available on DirecTV on July 16, then in theaters and streaming on August 14.
