'Game of Thrones' Fans Have a Predictable Reaction to Season 8's 2019 Premiere Date
HBO is not casting its light upon us: The network has confirmed that "Game of Thrones" Season 8 isn't due out until 2019.
You can imagine how well the series' die-hard fans took that news -- about as well as a flaming arrow to the chest. Since the announcement earlier Thursday, there has been a lot of venting on Twitter. Fans feelings toward HBO right now are awfully similar to those of King's Landings residents toward Cersei Lannister during her walk of shame.
Fine, that might be a little extreme, but you get the point: People are sad, disappointed, and angry, and they're using GIFs and memes to show it. Below are some of the best reactions to the long gap between seasons.

HBO confirms 'Game of Thrones' won't be back until 2019—and somehow 2018 just got a whole lot longer: https://t.co/bIUcxUxxRApic.twitter.com/hkuiOfB0pO

Only four days into 2018 and I'm already done because Game of Thrones isn't coming back until 2019. Is this what they meant by the long night?

How do they expect us to wait till 2019 for Game of Thrones smh
— Ronit Shahi (@ShahiRonit) January 4, 2018
As bad as "Game of Thrones" fans think we have it, we have to remember that it could always be worse. Readers waiting for George R. R. Martin's upcoming book "The Winds of Winter" have been doing so for years and they still don't know when they'll be able to get their hands on a copy.
Y'all are complaining about waiting till 2019 for Game of Thrones and I'm over here waiting till 2050 for The Winds of Winter

Of course, that's no consolation for fans of both the TV and book series...
We're definitely in for a long wait, but at least we expect it will be worth it.
