The 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Premiere Had 2 Unexpected Cameos
Amid the action and excitement of the "Game of Thrones" Season 8 premiere, two cameos in the episode flew under the radar.
The much-anticipated TV event finally came on Sunday, kicking off the show's final season with the drama, intrigue, and bloodshed fans have come to expect. Unbeknownst to most viewers, there were two comedy actors in the fray; both "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star Rob McElhenney and "Silicon Valley" regular Martin Starr appeared in the episode.
The two actors played men under the command of Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk), EW reports. Their presence was short-lived, though. They both met their end, dying as -- spoiler alert! -- Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) rescued sister Yara (Gemma Whelan).
McElhenney showed his character's gruesome outcome in a photo he posted to Instagram on Monday. The actor captioned it, "Don't blink," a nod to both the brevity of his appearance and the eye injury he suffered. Eesh.
"Game of Thrones" has been known to have the occasional cameo, including the infamous Ed Sheeran scene in Season 7. These most recent ones seem to have sparked a lot less ire, based on the response on Twitter:

Mac out of Its always sunny in Philadelphia having the quickest cameo in game of thrones? If he was drinking his Fight milk he would have survived getting hit in the eye with an arrow. #GameofThrones
