It's good to be the CEO of HBO. The network's chief, Richard Plepler, has already seen rough cuts of all six episodes of "Game of Thrones" Season 8 -- two times, no less.

Plepler raved about the upcoming season after the Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 6. He told Variety that the final season is "an extraordinary treat" that left him in awe. He particularly highlighted the storytelling and "magical, magical production."

"The guys have done six movies," he said of showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. "The reaction I had while watching them was, 'I'm watching a movie."

Plepler didn't specify in exactly what way the episodes were like movies -- whether it was in terms of length, quality, or other measures. However, we do know that they're supposed to be extra-long. One of Season 8's directors, David Nutter, previously said he thought they'd all top 60 minutes. They're now rumored to be about 90 minutes each, according to Variety.

While the CEO hasn't seen the episodes with CGI yet, he was clearly impressed by them nonetheless. Benioff and Weiss earned plenty of praise from him. As Plepler put it, "they knew the bar was high," but "they've exceeded the bar."

Fans are still months away from seeing whether or not they agree with Plepler, but in the meantime, they got to see the first footage from the final season. It was revealed during a break in the awards show in a promo for several HBO shows.

The eighth and final season of "Game of Thrones" premieres in April on HBO.
