The planned "Game of Thrones" prequel will have a very familiar look to fans of the mothership series.

The prequel's pilot will begin filming in Belfast in October, according to the Belfast Telegraph. It will use the set at The Paint Hall in the city's Titanic Quarters, where some "Game of Thrones" scenes were shot. It is also home to the Syfy's Superman TV prequel "Krypton" and reportedly will house a "Star Wars"-related project next year.

HBO's untitled "Game of Thrones" prequel comes from screenwriter Jane Goldman ("Kick-Ass," "Kingsman"), who collaborated with author George R.R. Martin. The project was greenlit by HBO last month.

The story is set thousands of years before the events of "Game ff Thrones" and chronicles "the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend … it’s not the story we think we know.”

Of course, this is just the pilot; it may never be ordered to series or be entirely reworked after filming. And there are several other "Game of Thrones" spinoffs in the works as of yet.
