The final season of "Game of Thrones" consists of just six episodes, but don't worry, they'll be long ones, according to one of the show's directors.

During a Reddit AMA on Tuesday, Nov. 13, director David Nutter gave fans a promising tidbit. He responded to a question about the run time of Season 8's episodes by saying that they'll "be dancing around the bigger numbers," per Entertainment Weekly.

"Season 8 episodes will all I think be longer than 60 minutes," Nutter wrote.

In the past, "Game of Thrones" episodes have tended to hover around an hour but often not crossed the mark; however, certain episodes have done so -- and some by quite a lot. The final two episodes of Season 7 are the show's longest to date, at 71 and 81 minutes, respectively, as Watchers on the Wall reported in June 2017.

It sounds like we'll be getting both quality and quantity in the last hours of "Game of Thrones." Nutter said he's "completely satisfied" with the show's ending. He added that showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss "took into consideration what the fans want, as well as what is right as far as storytelling is concerned."

That all makes us all the more excited about the show's upcoming return. The Season 8 is set for April, as HBO finally just announced.
