'Game of Thrones': 6 Characters Most Likely to Die In Season 6

By Jesse Schedeen[WARNING: Huge Spoilers ahead!] If there’s one thing we’ve learned about HBO’s “Game of Thrones” over the past five seasons, it’s that characters die. A lot. Good or evil, young or old, man or woman - no one is truly safe in the land of Westeros.  We doubt that the series will lay off on the bloodshed in the upcoming sixth season. If anything, recent events promise even more death and suffering this year – especially with the series off-book, and forging its own course until George R.R. Martin can catch up with his novels. We’ve selected five characters that we think are mostly likely to die this season.

Ser Jorah Mormont

Jorah has been having a rough go lately, having been banished by his beloved Queen Daenerys for once spying on her and contracting the deadly Greyscale disease. Jorah now has a chance to redeem himself by joining with Daario to rescue Daenerys from the Dothraki. We can easily see him sacrificing his own life to save his Queen. And if battle doesn't kill him, the disease surely will. Just another happy day in Westeros. 

Ellaria Sand

Ellaria was so great in Season 4, but was kinda wasted in Season 5. They might as well kill her, if she is gonna get saddled with barely anything to do.  Ever since the grisly death of her paramour, Oberyn Martell, Ellaria Sand has devoted herself to claiming revenge on the Lannisters, even if that means sparking all-out war between King’s Landing and Dorne. She appears to have gotten her wish, as Season 5 ended with Ellaria poisoning young Myrcella Lannister. Expect the Lannisters to return to Dorne in full force this season -- with Zombie Mountain leading Cersei's revenge-fueled charge. 

Tommen Baratheon

In the brutal land of Westeros, even children aren’t spared from the horrors of war. Season 5 was a harsh reminder of that fact, as both Myrcella and Shireen Baratheon were killed in the most horrific of ways. Cersei is now down to one surviving child, the well-meaning (but easily manipulable) King Tommen. It’s all but certain that Tommen is next for the chopping block. Cersei was once warned by a witch that she would grow to have great power but that all of her children would die. So far, that witch’s prophecy has been spot-on. In short, it sucks to be Tommen. 

Margaery & Loras Tyrell

Things aren’t looking good for Queen Margaery or her valiant brother Loras. The two both found themselves prisoners of the Faith Militant by the end of Season 5 -- Loras for charges of sodomy and blasphemy, and Margaery for lying to the Faith in order to defend him. Both characters will now be forced to prove their innocence or face execution. We assume at least one of them will be killed off this season, and we’re guessing neither Tyrell sibling are long for this world. Cersei is in a particularly bloodthirsty mood right now.

Ramsay Bolton

Why should he die? Uh, because HE'S THE WORST! Ahem. Anyway -- every so often, the “Game of Thrones” writers kill a character who actually deserves a horrible, painful death. (Sorry not sorry, Joffrey). With noble, heroic characters like Jon Snow and Shireen Baratheon getting the ax last season, the show is overdue for the death of a major villain. And who’s more deserving right now than Ramsay Bolton? Ramsay reached new levels of wickedness in Season 5 as he waged war on Stannis Baratheon and tortured his new bride, Sansa. Surely his comeuppance is close at hand. We expect that either Sansa or her new protector, the man formerly known as Theon Greyjoy, will be the one to finally rid the world of Lord D-Bag Ramsay.
