FX's 'Pose' Quickly Renewed for Season 3
FX didn't need to see much more "Pose" before deciding on the fate of the show. The network has renewed the drama series just one episode into its second season, Variety reports.
Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Steven Canals, "Pose" first debuted last year, on June 3. The eight-episode first season explored different aspects of life and society in New York in the late 1980s, including the underground ball culture. The series scored a renewal in July 2018, setting fans up for a second season.
Season 2 premiered on June 11, with the story jumping forward in time to 1990. The current season will look at the ballroom community going mainstream, the AIDS crisis, and more. There will be 10 episodes.
"Pose" has established itself as a groundbreaking show. It boasts the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles, plus the largest-ever recurring cast of LGBTQ actors for a scripted series. Stars include Mj Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore, Hailie Sahar, Angelica Ross, Billy Porter, Charlayne Woodard, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Dyllón Burnside, and Angel Bismark Curiel.
"Pose" is executive produced by Murphy, Falchuk, Canals, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Sherry Marsh, while Janet Mock serves as a co-executive producer, writer, and director. Producers are Erica Kay, Lou Eyrich, and Tanase Popa, and Our Lady J is a supervising producer.
"Pose" airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
