A 'Flight of the Conchords' Special Is Coming to HBO in May
Get your black socks ready: New Zealand's fourth most popular comedy folk duo is set to return for more "Business Time" on HBO.
The guys behind "Flight of the Conchords" will be back for a concert special on the premium cable outlet, which will be taped during their upcoming tour of the United Kingdom. The special, featuring both classic and new songs performed during their sold-out Flight of the Conchords Sing Flight of the Conchords Tour, is set to air on HBO sometime in May.
The duo, comprised of New Zealand natives Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, shot to fame on their eponymous HBO series, a fictionalized version of their lives which ran for two seasons from 2007 to 2009, and also starred Kristen Schaal and Rhys Darby. The cult hit was beloved by critics and fans alike, and earned lots of awards attention, including 10 Emmy nominations. The Conchords went on to win a Grammy for their 2008 album, "The Distant Future," while McKenzie began a musical collaboration with the Muppets, which netted him him a Best Original Song Oscar in 2012.
There's no official premiere date yet, but we'll be counting down the days until May.
