Rachel Lindsay is going from "Bachelor" franchise's 15-year history.

ABC hasn't made the big announcement yet, but blogger Reality Steve reported Monday morning that the popular contestant has been chosen to be the rose-giver during the upcoming season of "The Bachelorette." An unnamed source also confirmed the news to Variety, and the official reveal is supposed to come during "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Monday night.

If you were holding out hope for Lindsay and Viall to end up together, the news unfortunately indicates that there's no happy ending for the duo. (Unless Viall somehow finds his way back onto "The Bachelorette," which -- let's be honest -- we can never rule out.) Instead, the two are said to have parted ways -- spoiler alert! -- after she made the top three.

There had been speculation that Lindsay could make history while looking for her happily ever after as the Bachelorette. The show has long come under fire for its lack of diversity; never once in 21 seasons of "The Bachelor" or 12 of "The Bachelorette" has there been an African-American lead.

The 31-year-old lawyer has been described by host Chris Harrison as "beautiful, smart, and talented," as well as one of several "overqualified" candidates to do the job. Nonetheless, it looks like she's willing to do it, so we're glad she's getting her chance.
