Elisabeth Moss Drops F-Bomb in Emmys Speech: Here's What Was Bleeped
F*ck yeah, "The Handmaid's Tale" had a great night at the 2017 Emmy Awards.
The freshman Hulu series dominated the Emmys, winning Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Ann Dowd, Outstanding Writing and Directing awards, and Outstanding Lead Actress for Elisabeth Moss.
Moss had been nominated before as Peggy Olson in "Mad Men," but playing Offred in "The Handmaid's Tale" was her first Emmy win.
In her speech, she thanked her mother, saying, "You are brave and strong and smart, and you've taught me that you can be kind...." The screen bleeped the rest out, but the live audience loved it.
So what did she say? "That you can be kind while being a f*cking badass." She was actually bleeped out twice, first for just a lone "f*ck" before the tribute to her mom.
