Ed Sheeran Joins 'The Bastard Executioner' in Recurring Role
Singer Ed Sheeran is set to give acting a try in a recurring role on upcoming FX series "The Bastard Executioner."
Sons of Anarchy"'s final season, after the British songwriter revealed that he was a big fan of Sutter's biker drama.
"Bastard Executioner" will keep up Sutter's penchant for high-stakes drama, only this time, the action is set in the 1300s. The show is described by THR as "a blood-soaked medieval epic that tells the story of a 14th century warrior whose life is forever changed when a divine messenger beseeches him to lay down his sword and lead the life of a journeyman executioner."
The series is currently shooting in the U.K., and also stars Stephen Moyer, Katey Sagal, Lee Jones, and Flora Spencer-Longhurst. There's no set premiere date yet, though it's expected to debut sometime this fall.
Sheeran will next appear on television screens in his special, "Ed Sheeran: Live at Wembley Stadium," which will premiere on NBC on August 16.
