Dwayne Johnson, the once and future The Rock, has proven that he can pretty much do anything at this point.

He's battled skyscrapers and fault lines. He's been "The Tooth Fairy" and "The Scorpion King."  He's portrayed a "Baywatch" lifeguard, played "Jumanji," and voiced a singing Hawaiian demigod. But think back to 2003 when his film career was just kicking off. Fresh off his wrestling success and with only a few movies under his belt, Dwayne Johnson solidified his action hero status in a often-overlooked vehicle, "The Rundown."

Even though he's come a long way since then, the thrilling popcorn comedy is still a cinematic delight. Here are just a few reasons why.

1. It's got a classic buddy comedy set-up.

In the spirit of '80s classics like "Midnight Run," "The Rundown" is about "retrieval expert" Beck (Johnson) who sets out for the jungle for ONE LAST MISSION (aren't they all?) to bring home a mobster's son, Travis (Seann William Scott). The money earned from his final capture will allow him to quit the bounty hunting game and open up, naturally, a restaurant.

2. It Involves Treasure

Fact: Any movie with some sort of treasure plotline is mildly amusing. Travis is in the Amazon hoping to discover an ancient gold idol that is dubbed the Gato del Diablo. Obviously, this scenario causes trouble to ensue.

3. Christopher Walken Plays the Bad Guy *Chef's Kiss

Honestly, how could this movie NOT be good.

Also, his character's name is Cornelius Bernard Hatcher and he's the evil operator of the HellDorado's mining company.

4. It's Directed by Peter Berg

Peter Berg is a respected director and actor. He's the man behind "Very Bad Things," "Friday Night Lights," and "Lone Survivor." He directed the pilots of "The Leftovers" and NBC's "Friday Night Lights." Show some respect.

5. There's a Scene That Involves Horny Monkeys

6. It has Legit Good Action Scenes

Even Arnold Schwarzenegger makes a cameo, guys.

7. There Could Be a Killer Sequel (If We're Lucky)

"We’ve been talking about it. You know, I wanted to do it with Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson. If I could get Jonah Hill, I’d do it tomorrow.
