'Don't Think Twice' Director Calls BS on 'Suicide Squad' PG-13 Rating

Why did "Suicide Squad" get a rating of PG-13 for "sequences of violence and action throughout, disturbing behavior, suggestive content and language," while "Don't Think Twice" got a rating of R for "language and some drug use"?

Mike Birbiglia wants to know. You may not know who he is, but he's the director of the comedy "Don't Think Twice," which was released in theaters on July 22, starring Keegan-Michael Key, Gillian Jacobs, Kate Micucci, Chris Gethard, Tami Sagher, and Birbiglia himself.So far, it has a 100 percent rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics, as opposed to "Suicide Squad," which currently has a 29 percent rating. Not that the reviews will really affect the box office -- "Suicide Squad" is going to clean up -- but a PG-13 rating would probably have helped a lesser-known film like "Don't Think Twice."

Birbiglia tweeted his thoughts on the ratings disparity:

Suicide Squad has machine gun killings and bombings and got a PG-13 rating. @Dontthinkmovie gets an R because adults smoke pot. Confusing?
