Disney's magic mirror seems to be showing that Marc Webb is the fairest director of them all.

The "Amazing Spider-Man" director is the studio's top choice for its live-action "Snow White" remake, according to Variety's sources. Webb is reportedly now in talks to direct. Meanwhile, Disney is also working on locking down screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson ("The Girl on the Train").

The latest version of "Snow White" will a live-action adaptation of the 1937 classic animated film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." Disney has seen a lot of success with such remakes in recent years, including 2017's "Beauty and the Beast" and 2016's "The Jungle Book." The most recent is "Aladdin," which opened in theaters on May 24.

Webb is familiar with reboots. His two Amazing Spider-Man films rebooted Sam Raimi's earlier Spider-Man trilogy. Other projects he has directed include the films "Gifted" and "The Only Living Boy in New York" as well as episodes of the series "The Society" and "The Code."

Marc Platt is set to produce the "Snow White" remake, and "La La Land" songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul have been tasked with writing new songs. Hopefully it won't be long before it'll be off to work they go.
