Hail to the Chief, Gina Rodriguez.

The "Jane the Virgin" star will have a recurring role as the titular POTUS on "Diary of a Female President," the Disney+ series she is executive producing through her company I Can and I Will Productions.

Rodriguez will also direct the first episode.

The 10-episode first season follows Elena, a 12-year-old, Cuban-American girl (newcomer Tess Romero) as she navigates the ups and downs of middle school and her journey to becoming the future president of the United States. Unabashed, semi-dweeby, ultra-observant and with a strong point of view, she walks through the world with purpose and confidence.

“I established my production company as a vehicle to tell stories for and by the underrepresented,” Rodriguez said. “Bringing this story to Disney+ is a dream come true not to mention hope for our future.”
