'Black Panther' Star Letitia Wright Joins Agatha Christie Adaptation 'Death on the Nile'
A "Black Panther" standout is headed into the world of Agatha Christie's famed detective Hercule Poirot.
Letitia Wright is set to star in the adaptation of the popular detective novel "Death on the Nile," per a new THR report. She joins a cast that already includes Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, and Kenneth Branagh. The latter will both direct and play Poirot, his "Murder on the Orient Express" character.
The story follows Poirot as his Cairo vacation turns into the investigation of a socialite's murder. Wright has signed on to play Rosalie Otterbourne, the daughter of a romance novelist. As one of the passengers on board a steamer traveling down the Nile, she becomes embroiled in the investigation.
Wright gained widespread attention for her role as Shuri in "Black Panther." Afterward, she reprised her role in both "Avengers: Infinity War" and the upcoming "Avengers: Endgame." Her most recently released film, "Guava Island," debuted this month.
Production on Fox's "Death on the Nile" is slated to begin in late September. A release date has not been announced.
