'Deadwood: The Movie' Trailer Sets up Old and New Rivalries
We're closing in on the premiere date of "Deadwood: The Movie," so HBO has finally given us the official trailer.
Picking up about 10 years after the events of the original TV series, "Deadwood: The Movie" is set in 1889. It returns to South Dakota, where change has come. The synopsis teases, "Former rivalries are reignited, alliances are tested and old wounds are reopened, as all are left to navigate the inevitable changes that modernity and time have wrought."
The trailer certainly shows strife. We see people facing off, shots fired, insults hurled, and threats made. Watch below.
The upcoming movie stars Ian McShane (Al Swearengen), Timothy Olyphant (Seth Bullock), and Molly Parker (Ama Ellsworth), all of whom return reprise their original roles. They're joined by fellow returning cast members Paula Malcomson, John Hawkes, Anna Gunn, Dayton Callie, Brad Dourif, Robin Weigert, William Sanderson, Kim Dickens, and Gerald McRaney, as well as "Deadwood" newcomer Jade Pettyjohn.
"Deadwood: The Movie" arrives May 31 on HBO.
