Daniel Radcliffe Headlining TBS Comedy About Angels
Harry Potter is getting his wings.
TBS has ordered a new anthology comedy series starring Daniel Radcliffe and Owen Wilson titled "Miracle Workers," which is described as a "Heaven-set workplace comedy." Radcliffe plays a low-level angel named Craig and Wilson is God, but one who's busy focusing on his hobbies. So, it's up to Craig to handle all of humanity's prayers.
Simon Rich created the show based on his book "What in God's name." He will serve as showrunner, with Lorne Michaels on board to executive produce.
"Having Daniel Radcliffe and Owen Wilson join the TBS family is proof of the continued evolution of this comedy brand asthe home of the most creative minds in the business," said Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS in a statement. "Owen Wilson has long been a comic genius, and Daniel's performance in last year's 'Swiss Army Man' really proved that there's a sophisticated comedian under the surface of those brilliant dramatic chops."
This is Wilson's first series role, and Radcliffe's first American television series. He previously starred with Jon Hamm in the U.K. comedy "A Young Doctor's Notebook" for two seasons.
