You'd almost think AMC would want to be extra nice to "The Walking Dead" fans after ticking off so many with the Season 6 finale. Instead, "Dancing With the Stars" pro Sharna Burgess revealed in her TV Guide blog that the network pulled clearance of the TWD song she and James Hinchcliffe wanted to use last night for the TV Night theme, so they had to scramble to find a "Walking Dead"-inspired song to replace it.

On Monday, James and Sharna performed a Paso Doble in honor of TWD. They were already on a tight schedule, since IndyCar driver James had a race last week, severely limiting their rehearsal time. Although, James and Sharna were the only couple to decrease in scores from Week 1 to Week 2, they still rank high on the scoreboard going into tonight's Results Show, and Sharna is proud of everything they accomplished, considering the obstacles.

Here's Sharna's explanation of what happened, from her TV Guide blog:

"I could not be more proud of James and I as a team for what we were able to do in such a short space time. We only had a day and a half to get this dance together and on top of that, we had some added complications. We were supposed to do a specific scene from 'The Walking Dead,' which had been cleared by the network, and then late on Tuesday AMC pulled clearance on the song!

So most of my Tuesday was spent trying to find either a new song with a new dance style, or another TV scene that had Paso Doble. All of which were impossible to find, given the time that we had! In the end,we found a song that sounded like 'The Walking Dead' and we were able to do something that was inspired by the show.

I watched it back and I feel like James absolutely killed it. He was such a dominating male role in that number. Especially with three very tall, fantastic dancers dancing next to him."

Wonder what specific TWD scene they had planned to do... Check out clips from their rehearsal and TWD-inspired routine:

DWTS airs the first Results Show of the Fall 2016 season tonight (Tuesday, September 20) from 8 to 10 p.m., with the news of who is going home probably airing around 9:55 p.m. ET on ABC. It shouldn't be James and Sharna, since they are currently second on the scoreboard, below Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy.
