'Dancing With the Stars: Juniors' Cast Includes Young Gamora, Honey Boo Boo
Does this put a smile on your face?
"Dancing With the Stars" is launching its mini spinoff "Dancing With the Stars: Juniors" on October 7. Last night, before eliminating the first couple of DWTS Season 27, "Juniors" introduced its young stars, dancers, and their DWTS pro mentors.
The young cast includes an "Avengers: Infinity War" star, a professional skateboarder, an ABC comedy star, a runway model, Disney Channel stars, and the youngest boy to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
You'll recognize some famous last names as the children of celebs -- or sister in the case of Mackenzie Ziegler, sister of "Dance Moms" star Maddie Ziegler.
• Miles Brown, "black-ish," with Rylee Arnold, mentored by Lindsay Arnold
• Ariana Greenblatt, "Avengers: Infinity War," with Artyon Celestine, mentored by Brandon Armstrong
• Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, with Tristan Ianiero, mentored by Artem Chigvintsev
• Akash Vukoti, the youngest boy to ever compete at National Spelling Bee, with Kamri Peterson, mentored by Witney Carson
• Sky Brown, professional skateboarder, with JT Church, mentored by Alan Bersten
• Mandla Morris, Stevie Wonder’s son, with Brightyn Brems, mentored by Cheryl Burke
• Sophia Pippen, NBA legend Scottie Pippen’s daughter, with Jake Monreal, mentored by Sasha Farber
• Hudson West, General Hospital, with Kameron Couch, mentored by Hayley Erbert
• Mackenzie Ziegler, singer and sister of Maddie Ziegler, with Sage Rosen, mentored by Gleb Savchenko
• Tripp Palin, Sarah Palin’s grandson, with Hailey Bills, mentored by Jenna Johnson
• Addison Osta Smith, MasterChef Junior Season 4 winner, with Lev Khmelev, mentored by Keo Motsepe
• Jason Maybaum, Raven’s Home, with Elliana Walmsley, mentored by Emma Slater
There's already controversy about Mackenzie Ziegler's casting, since she does have quite a bit of dance experience. But they always love to cast at least one "ringer," you know that.
Hosted by DWTS Season 25 winner, Jordan Fisher and finalist Frankie Muniz, "Dancing with the Stars: Juniors" is judged by Emmy Award-winning choreographer Mandy Moore, professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, and "Dancing with the Stars: Athletes" champion Adam Rippon.
"DWTS: Juniors" premieres Sunday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
