Danai Gurira is walking away from "The Walking Dead."

The actress, who was part of the SAG Award-winning ensemble cast of "Black Panther," has signed a deal for her final season on the AMC zombie drama, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Gurira has played the katana-wielding Michonne since Season 3. She'll reportedly return in a limited capacity — a handful of episodes throughout the recently-announced Season 10. 

Michonne has become a fan favorite as a zombie-beheading badass. In recent seasons, the character became romantically involved with Rick Grimes.

But then series lead Andrew Lincoln left the series last fall, with Rick presumed dead by Michonne and friends. However, the injured Rick was rescued by a mysterious group with a helicopter.

As part of the deal, Gurira reportedly will join Lincoln in the three "Walking Dead" movies that AMC is planning to continue Rick's story.

Gurira's exit is hardly surprising after the actress gained even more prominence in "Black Panther." She's likely to appear in "Avengers: Endgame," and there was also a movement to spin off her character, Okoye, into her own standalone movie.

And Gurira isn't just an actress. She's also a playwright who co-wrote and is starring in the off-Broadway production "In the Continuum." She already has a Tony nomination for writing 2016's "Eclipsed," which starred her future "Black Panther" co-star Lupita Nyong'o.
