A 'Clueless' Remake Is Reportedly in Development, and Fans Aren't Happy
Yet another movie is reportedly getting remade, and this time, there are some vocal opponents.
Paramount Pictures is working on a "Clueless" remake, according to a Variety report on Thursday, Oct. 25. The studio has apparently lined up "GLOW" writer Marquita Robinson to pen the new script. Yet the news didn't thrill fans of the 1995 film starring Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, Brittany Murphy, Paul Rudd, and Donald Faison. The reaction on Twitter from die-hard "Clueless" stans was pretty much a resounding, "As if!"
A lot of fans pointed out in their tweets that "Clueless" -- a modern-day adaptation of the Jane Austen novel "Emma" -- is already perfection. They're not really interested in seeing a remake when they can just rewatch the original. See for yourself below:
It's possible that fans might get on board with the plan when they learn more about it, but so far, details are scarce. In the meantime, we recommend a viewing of "Clueless" for anyone worried about the remake -- no matter what happens, they can't take that away from us.
