Chris Pratt: 'Infinity War' Team-Up of 'Guardians' & 'Avengers' Is 'Really Freaking Cool'
Marvel's "Avengers: Infinity War" will give fans exactly what they want from a meeting of the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
That's what Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord) promised to the Toronto Sun, while promoting "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2":
"It's exactly what the fans want. I've heard over and over from people, 'When are the Guardians going to meet up with the Avengers?' I was never sure how that would happen or if that would happen, but then they announced ['Avengers: Infinity War'] and called us and told us it was happening. We've shot most of it — my stuff — and I can tell you, the fans are not going to be disappointed. It's going to be really freaking cool."
Yesssssss. "Guardians 2" is getting some really freaking cool reviews at this point, and hopefully fans like it as much as the critics. Pratt previously hyped the "Guardians" sequel as the "biggest spectacle movie of all time." The Toronto paper reminded him of that quote, and he added this extra tease:
"Well, so far, 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' is still is the biggest spectacle movie of all time — that is all time up until now. But 'Avengers [Infinity War]' is going to be a pretty big spectacle. I think you're talking 40 heroes — that is a huge spectacle."
Marvel shared some behind-the-scenes looks at "Infinity War" -- featuring Pratt, Tom Holland (Spider-Man), and Robert Downey. Jr. (Iron Man) back in February toward the start of production.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" opens Friday, May 5. "Avengers: Infinity War" opens May 4, 2018. Then "Avengers 4" will show up in 2019, and we don't know the official title yet because it would spoil what comes before it.
