Bye-Bye Pepper Potts: Gwyneth Paltrow Exiting the Marvel Universe
Since Gwyneth Paltrow has all but retired from acting, it's not a big surprise that we won't be seeing much more of Pepper Potts in the MCU.
Speaking to Variety, she said the last we'll see of Pepper is in "Avengers: Endgame." Her character's last status (pre-snap): Engaged to Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), who was also trying to talk her into having a baby with him. And
"I mean, I’m a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point," said Paltrow, who's now 46. As you recall, Tony developed a version of the Iron Man suit so she could wear it, when needed.
She she feels "very lucky" to have done the first film, which she "got talked into," because she was friends with "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau. "It was such a wonderful experience making the first 'Iron Man' and then to watch how important it has become to fans," she shared.
She says she'd be happy to come back for cameos, if need be. "I feel honored to be a part of something that people are so passionate about,” she said. "Of course, if they said, ‘Can you come back for a day?,' I will always be there if they need me."
Paltrow now spends most of her time running her lifestyle brand Goop, as the company’s CEO. A Goop series for Netflix is in the works. (Get those jade eggs ready!)
Outside of the MCU, she last appeared in 2015's box-office bomb "Mortdecai."
