The original British series "Queer of Folk," which ran from 1999-2000, helped boost the careers of "Pacific Rim"'s Charlie Hunnam and future "Game of Thrones" star Aidan Gillen. It also spawned a US spinoff set in Pittsburgh, which starred Gale Harold and Hal Sparks.

Now the creator of the original series, Russell T. Davies, is working on a new version for Bravo. It will also be set in Britain, but will feature a "modern take" that features new characters in a new setting. (The original series was set in working class Manchester.)

Like the first two go-rounds, it will follow the lives of a group of gay men in the aftermath of a tragedy.

Davies recently served as writer and executive producer on the BBC-Amazon miniseries "A Very English Scandal" starring Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw. The show received three Golden Globe nominations, including best limited series.

Bravo recently added scripted series "Dirty John" to its reality show staples like "Top Chef" and the "Real Housewives." Looks like more scripted TV is on the agenda.
