'Bones & All' Adaptation in the Works From 'Suspiria' Screenwriter
"Suspiria" screenwriter Dave Kajganich is bringing his horror-tinged pen to an adaptation of "Bones & All," the award-winning novel by Camille DeAngelis.
The project will be directed by Antonio Campos ("The Sinner").
The novel is a coming-of-age story of 16-year-old Maren Yearly, who is struggling with a terrifying identity crisis — being a cannibal. Abandoned by her mother, she goes in search of her long-lost father. Along the way, she wrestles with the moral dilemma of how to choose her meals/victims.
“We’ve all become used to the status quo of jump-scare horror, but this is a story with something so disquieting, tense, and human at its center, it will give us the chance to engage the genre aggressively from the side of character,” said Kajganich in a statement.
