12 Stars You Forgot Appeared on 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was a starting point for some of our biggest stars today. These are the 12 actors and actresses you (probably) forgot made an appearance on the hit show.
Rachel Bilson, Season 7
Rachel Bilson only appeared for about a minute in a dream of Xander's (surprise, surprise). She was one of the potentials, but we never saw her again. Womp womp.
Amy Adams, Season 5
Before she played Lois Lane in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," Amy Adams played one of Tara's terrible relatives who tried to drag her home. Luckily, they failed, and Tara got to stay. Though, if she went home maybe she would've lived to see college graduation. (Sobs).
Nathan Fillion, Season 7
The "Castle" actor, who's a Joss Whedon favorite, played the handsome but completely terrifying Caleb for the better part of the seventh season. He was somehow even scarier than The First, probably because he gauged Xander's eye out with his thumb. That might have something to do with it.
Wentworth Miller, Season 2
The actor, best known for "Prison Break" and "Legends of Tomorrow," played Sunnydale's swim star Gage Petronzi. Everything was looking up for him, but then he turned into a sea creature. Boy, does that put a damper on things.
Shane West, Season 2
Shane West was shirtless in his "Buffy" episode, and that's all we really need to know. He swam a little, too, and turned into a Gill Monster thanks to steroids in the steam room, but that's beside the point.
Amber Tamblyn, Season 6
Amber Tamblyn played one of Dawn's bad-influence friends during the season better known as "Dawn's the worst." She and Dawn snuck out to hang with some hot guys, but they happened to be vampires. Luckily, Giles came to their rescue. Let's just say that none of this would've happened if they had a pair of magical, traveling pants.
Pedro Pascal, Season 4
Before dying in the most gruesome way possible on "Game of Thrones," Pedro Pascal (known at the time as Pedro Balmaceda) was a potential love interest of good ol' Buffy. Unfortunately, after their flirtation, he got kidnapped by some vampires and turned into one. Buffy turned him into dust and went on to date the human equivalent of dust, Riley.
Clea Duvall, Season 1
We all remember the invisible girl, because who didn't want to disappear in high school?
John Ritter, Season 2
At the time, John Ritter was best known for portraying the hapless Jack Tripper on "Three's Company" and the over-protective dad of Kaley Cuoco in "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter." But on "Buffy," he terrified us as Ted, Joyce's new main squeeze who just happened to be a robot. You win some, you lose some.
Ashanti, Season 7
Our favorite singer of early 2000s R&B appeared in an episode in which she decided to go on a date with Xander. That's her first red flag, since Xander (deservedly) attracts demons. The biggest red flag was when she wore a belly chain while trying to bleed Xander out in a ritual sacrifice. The first rules of sacrifices? No jewelry you'll regret in 10 years. Second rule? Actually complete it before your plan is thwarted by Buffy and the rest of her Scooby gang.
Kal Penn, Season 4
Before going on an epic journey for White Castle burgers with John Cho, Kal Penn got primal with Buffy in the infamous "Beer Bad" episode.
Felicia Day, Season 7
Supernatural" and "Dollhouse," is another Whedon staple, so her appearance on "Buffy" was no surprise. She played one of the Potentials in the seventh and final season.
