"Big Little Lies" came to an end Sunday, but the HBO limited series isn't the only thing over, according to Alexander Skarsgård.

The actor, who stars in the miniseries as the violent Perry Wright, recently discussed his role with EW and joked that his career may have reached its end, too. He insinuated that playing a dark character like Perry might make it harder to land future work, especially as a film or series' hero.

"I have a feeling this is going to be my last interview ever because after Perry Wright, I'll never get another job. ... I'll never play leading man, that's for sure," Skarsgård told EW with a laugh.

His "Big Little Lies" character is definitely more one of nightmares than daydreams. As Perry -- spoilers ahead if you haven't completed the miniseries -- he abused his wife, Celeste (Nicole Kidman), and was ultimately outed as the man who raped Jane (Shailene Woodley) before he was pushed to his death. Now, Skarsgård seems to think casting directors will have trouble separating him from his character's horrific actions.

"If you ever need an abusive asshole, I'm your guy," he joked when asked about typecasting.

There might be some truth to that. This isn't the first time we've seen Skarsgård play a violent villain, after all; he played a very twisted character in 2011's "Straw Dogs," for example.

Nonetheless, we still doubt Skarsgård will be struggling to find work anytime soon. On the off chance that he does, though, his fans can rest assured that he thought his complicated "Big Little Lies" role "was worth it."
