'Big Brother' Fans Rally to Save Show After Julie Chen's Husband Exits CBS
Les Moonves should only ever be referred to as Julie Chen's husband.
His status as the Chenbot's other half is what "Big Brother" fans really care about as #BB20 winds down.
Moonves just parachuted from CBS after multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. Julie Chen had already shared a statement supporting him:
After Moonves exited as the big boss, Chen shared a new statement with TheWrap on her TV plans:
"I am taking a few days off from ‘The Talk’ to be with my family. I will be back soon and will see you Thursday night on ‘Big Brother.'”
"Big Brother" airs three times a week, but Thursday is the live show. This week is also supposed to be a double eviction night for Season 20.
CBS has yet to renew "Big Brother" for Season 21, and fans are worried about the show's status. There's also talk that Julie Chen might not continue hosting for the rest of the season (although if she's coming back this Thursday, she might as well continue for the next couple of weeks).
Fans are using the hashtag #SaveBBUSA along with #BB20 as this season continues.
There have been issues with "Big Brother 20" beyond the Les Moonves exit. JC Mounduix has repeatedly been admonished for bad behavior, but doesn't seem keen to learn. Also, Scottie Salton's parting words on last week's live show -- with a "Hilton Head" pun directed at Tyler and Angela -- were censored and reportedly upset The Powers That Be.
BB20 continues Wednesdays at Sundays at 8 p.m. and Thursdays at 9 p.m. on CBS.
