Best of Late Night TV: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler Play True Confessions; LeBron James' Faceketball
If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.
"The Tonight Show" had too many cool things going on Tuesday night, it almost would've been better to spread them out. "Trainwreck" star LeBron James -- who also plays some basketball in his free time -- played "Faceketball" with Jimmy Fallon. They both wore net headbands and shot balls at each other's faces. (!) You have to see LeBron's expression when Jimmy scores points on him. Priceless. That was awesome enough, but wait! The incomparable team of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (love the new hair) also played True Confessions with Jimmy, in a reunion of former SNL Weekend Update co-anchors. (Seth Meyers, you should've jumped in.) Amy, Tina and Jimmy had to take turns reading either lie or truth statements, then the others had to interrogate them to determine the truth. The result was both amusing and revealing. Watch both videos:Emma Stone -- pause to appreciate her dress -- talked to "Conan" about being prescribed steroids while doing her first musical on Broadway. She lost her voice pretty often, and one night it was when Meryl Streep was in the crowd. She took steroids for her voice and one of the side-effects was sleeplessness. And then craziness. She didn't do anything too crazy but she went online to read about making her own body lotion and went to Amazon to bulk buy all the products to make her own lotion. She never went ahead and made it, because ... why would she? It was crazy. Emma also shared a Woody Allen story. He once asked her to explain Twitter to him. She tried to give him an example of a tweet online and ended off reading a quote that happened to be one of his own movie lines (from "Crimes and Misdemeanors") that Joyce Carol Oates had posted. So Emma and Conan decided this is more proof that Woody should be on Twitter to share his one-liners himself. Lindsey Vonn was a guest on "Conan" and gave the host a true abs test, punching him in the gut. It was based on a video Lindsey posted of herself being punched in the stomach to show off her rock-hard abs. Best part: When Andy Richter wanted to jump in. James Corden's "The Late Late Show" returned with another classic round of Carpool Karaoke -- this time with both Rod Stewart riding shotgun and then A$AP in the back.
