Ben Affleck Is 'Excited' About 'The Batman' Solo Film With Deathstroke
Ben Affleck is trying so hard to talk about "The Accountant" but when you're Batman, people want to hear about Batman. The Associated Press asked him for an update on his first solo Batfleck film, and he confirmed the (tentative?) title:
"The movie I think is going to be called 'The Batman.' At least that's what we're going with now. I might change it. I think that's about it right now. That's all I got. We're working on the script. The script is going well. I'm really excited about it."
He assured the AP that he'd share any new developments, but that's basically it for now. So, in that interview, he didn't say anything about Deathstroke as the main villain, as teased by TheWrap in a previous story where they also called the standalone film "The Batman." Joe Manganiello was later named as playing Deathstroke.
However, in another attempt to talk about "The Accountant," Collider asked Affleck what made Deathstroke the right villain for this movie:
"He's a great villain because—I just had an instinctive feeling that he would match up with him well. You know, I'm a big admirer of that character as well, especially in the New 52 the way that they did Deathstroke, and I thought that it could work."
In still another attempt to plug "The Accountant," Affleck defended "Batman v Superman," specifically the tone. That's where he debuted his Bruce Wayne/Batman, who will return with the whole gang in "Justice League." Jason Momoa revealed that JL just had its wrap party. That movie is scheduled for release November 17th, 2017.
