'Bachelorette' Rachel Lindsay Engaged to Bryan Abasolo
After casting aside a Tickle Monster, a "Whaboom," and a racist jerk, "Bachelorette" Rachel Lindsay got her happily ever after by getting engaged to Bryan Abasolo.
In last night's finale, the 32-year-old lawyer from Dallas gave her final rose to the 37-year-old chiropractor from Miami. She chose him over runner-up Peter Kraus and third-place finisher Eric Bigger.
The finale had its ups and downs — though perhaps was not the "most dramatic ever." After sending Bigger home, Lindsay had several emotional, tearful conversations with Kraus about whether he would propose if she selected him as the winner. But Kraus wouldn't commit to an engagement, and the two broke up before the final ceremony.
Instead, Abasolo arrived alone at a very windy castle on top of a hill in Rioja, Spain. "You are everything I could ever want in a woman, a wife, the mother of my children," he said. "I am completely head over heels totally and absolutely in love with you. I just hope you feel the same."
Lindsay confirmed she did. "I love you and I'm in love with you and I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else," she said.
Abasolo got down on one knee, proposed, Lindsay accepted. And in a live interview with host Chris Harrison, the couple revealed that they're still discussing where to live (Dallas, Miami, or Los Angeles) and a possible wedding date (Lindsay prefers winter weddings).
