Arrowverse Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg Officially Fired From The CW Shows
Never mind the "Crisis on Earth-X," there's an executive producer crisis to manage.
Andrew Kreisberg was a showrunner on "The Flash," "Supergirl," and "Arrow," also executive producing "Legends of Tomorrow," and "Vixen." He also had an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television Group, the studio that produces the shows. All of that is now gone. Kreisberg was officially fired, after 15 women and four men came forward with allegations of sexual harassment/misconduct by their boss.
The studio shared a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter), outlining the plan forward from here:
"After a thorough investigation, Warner Bros. Television Group has terminated Andrew Kreisberg's employment, effective immediately. Greg Berlanti will assume additional responsibilities on both The Flash, where he will work closely with executive producer/co-showrunner Todd Helbing, and Supergirl, where he will work closely with executive producers/co-showrunners Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller. We remain committed to providing a safe working environment for our employees and everyone involved in our productions."
Greg Berlanti and Berlanti Productions' head of television Sarah Schechter also shared a joint statement:
"Warner Bros. Television Group recently concluded its investigation into the allegations against Andrew Kreisberg. We encouraged and supported this investigation, we believe and support the individuals who came forward, and we agree with the studio's decision. Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of all our colleagues — co-workers, crew and staff alike."
According to THR, production wasn't interrupted, and the top producers visited the Vancouver sites of the four live-action shows to talk to the casts, crews, and others about what happened.
After the allegations initially came out about Kreisberg, and the investigation was launched, The CW stars Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, and Emily Bett Rickards took to social media to support the people coming forward.
The CW just finished its four-way Supergirl/Arrow/Flash/Legends of Tomorrow crossover this past Monday and Tuesday.
