'Arrow' Just Lost Another Original Character Before Season 7
It's the end of an era.
"Arrow" just lost another original character, after Willa Holland's departure as Oliver's younger sister Thea earlier in Season 6.
Actor Paul Blackthorne (Quentin Lance) won't be returning for "Arrow" Season 7. It's not clear how the current mayor will be written out, but there are only a few episodes left in Season 6 to find out.
"Arrow" airs Thursdays on The CW, and the remaining episodes this season include Episode 21 on May 3, Episode 22 on May 10, and the Season 6 finale, Episode 23, called "Life Sentence," airing May 17.
Quentin Lance has been an original character on "Arrow" since the pilot. So now, THR reports, star Stephen Amell (Oliver/Arrow) and David Ramsey (Diggle/Spartan) are the only original series regulars still remaining from the pilot.
gonna miss you @PaulBlackthorne and all your amazing scenes with @StephenAmell the father/son dynamic of Quentin/Oliver was unexpected but truly a wonderful one, and one of my fave. Good luck in all your future projects! #arrowpic.twitter.com/tSZSDxIbF7

Even though some fans feel like things are coming to an end -- with two original characters leaving this season -- The CW already renewed "Arrow" for Season 7. There will be changes behind-the-scenes as well, with co-showrunners Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle stepping down, and Beth Schwartz promoted as showrunner.
At least Colton Haynes is making his big return as a series regular in Season 7. That's good news, right?
"Arrow" airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on The CW.
