It was bad enough when Jason Sudeikis's red bird had his heart broken by an orange lovely who, it turned out, had eyes for another.

But the feathers really started to fly when Bill Hader's green pig arrived with his pig cohorts. Seems pigs, or at least this one, make the birds very upset.

Thus we have some clues, in this new trailer, as to why the birds of "Angry Birds" are so angry all the time.

The app-inspired animated film, which also stars the voice talents Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage and Maya Rudolph, arrives in theaters in May 2016
