Angela Bassett Won't Return for 'AHS: Apocalypse' ('Unless They Get Some Brilliant Idea')
Now it really does feel like the Apocalypse.
"American Horror Story" Season 8, aka "AHS: Apocalypse," is the "Murder House"/"Coven" crossover season. It's bringing almost everyone back, and fans have been so excited to see the returning names.
Sadly, Angela Bassett -- who starred as Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau in "Coven" -- told Us Weekly she is not among the returnees:
"I’m not in Horror Story. I’m not, not unless they get some brilliant idea. I love 'Coven' though."
Spoiler alert: Her Marie did die in "Coven." But come on. Other characters have died and come back. This is a show about the supernatural, after all. If anyone could reasonably return from Hell it's during the season about baby Michael the now grown-up Antichrist.
Bassett earned an Emmy nomination as Marie. She returned for Ryan Murphy's "AHS: Freak Show," "Hotel," and "Roanoke." She told Us Weekly the Voodoo Queen is her favorite and "very special to my heart." She loved working with the cast, and that was her joining of the AHS family.
Come on, Ryan Murphy, work your magic to get Angela Bassett on board!
"American Horror Story: Apocalypse" premieres September 12 on FX.
