The case is closed for "American Vandal" — for now. Netflix is canceling the true crime parody series after two seasons.

“'American Vandal' will not return for a third season,” the streaming service said in a statement. “We’re very grateful to the creators, writers, cast and crew for bringing their innovative comedy to Netflix, and to the fans and critics who embraced its unique and unconventional humor.”

CBS TV Studios, which produces the show, will shop it elsewhere.  The creators have already been plotting Season 3 of the anthology.

"American Vandal" is a spoof of true crime documentaries like Netflix sibling "Making a Murderer" and HBO's "The Jinx." The first season focused on a case involving dicks drawn on teachers' cars at a California high school. The second season, which premiered in September, investigated the identity of the Turd Burglar, who had contaminated a high school cafeteria's lemonade with laxatives.

The show was widely acclaimed, earning an Emmy nomination and a Peabody Award.

The cancellation follows others, all shows from outside producers. Netflix also recently canceled "Luke Cage" and "Iron First," both of which were produced by ABC Studios.
