'American Horror Story': Jessica Lange Returns, 10th Season is a Go
Excellent news, "AHS" fans: Jessica Lange is returning to the FX horror anthology for Season 8, which premieres next month.
"AHS" regular Sarah Paulsonannounced the news today at the TCA summer press tour. Also returning for Season 8: Evan Peters and Kathy Bates.
And if you were worried that Ryan Murphy's new deal at Netflix might mean the end of "American Horror Story," fear not.
"AHS" had already been renewed through a ninth season, was just greenlit for a 10th season at FX.
FX Networks CEO John Landgraf told Deadline, "Ryan [Murphy] asked for a 10th season of American Horror Story which we were happy to give to him."
Landgraf says that the prolific Murphy "remains pretty committed” to his FX shows, and is "really excited about 'Pose,'" which was just renewed for a second season.
And, of course, there'll also be more "American Crime Story" and "Feud." Says Landgraf, "He has been really prolific; he has been an important part of the FX brand, and he will continue to be a very important part of the FX brand."
As for whether we'll see more "AHS" after season 10, Landgrat says, "A lot of that comes down to Ryan and whether he still feels inspired about it.... So it comes down to whether Ryan and his collaborators, like [showrunner] Tim Minear, could come up with stories that they are excited about.”
"American Horror Story: Apocalypse" premieres September 12.
