All the TV Shows Canceled or Renewed by NBC and Fox
The TV upfronts kicked off this week with NBC and Fox unveiling their fall lineups to advertisers. Their presentations included the usual cancellation announcements, though this year's was particularly newsworthy as Fox revealed that the next season of "American Idol" will be its last. The network also announced that its smash hit "Empire" would return in the fall and run for 18 episodes.
As for NBC, it is debuting another Dick Wolf drama in "Chicago Med," while relegating its remaining comedies to Friday nights. Here are Fox and NBC's pickups and cancellations:
