Alex Trebek Plans to Return for 'Jeopardy' Season 36 in Spite of Cancer Battle
"Jeopardy!" fans can rest assured that Alex Trebeck is doing well. Having reached the final day of Season 35 taping, he shared a health update and previewed Season 36, which will begin airing in September.
Trebek, who was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March, offered both his heartfelt thanks to fans and a little dry humor. He started by noting the irony of having promised at the beginning of the current season that there were "surprises in store" for viewers, not knowing that he'd get a big one himself. From there, he noted how much he has appreciated the support he's gotten from fans, and then went on to share that he's "feeling good" and "continuing with [his] therapy."
Trebek also let viewers know that the "Jeopardy!" team is already working on Season 36. Before signing off, he made sure to say that he looks forward to "good stuff" rather than surprises when the show returns in September.
