'A Private War' Trailer: Rosamund Pike Is Addicted to War Zones
The official trailer for "A Private War" starring Rosamund Pike is here, and it opens with a bang-bang -- many of them.
Aviron Pictures dropped the intense preview Monday. It takes viewers to war zones around the world as it tells the story of Marie Colvin (Pike), a real-life war correspondent who spent decades covering global conflicts and putting herself in the line of fire. We see her passion for bringing stories to light but also how it becomes a dangerous addiction.
"I hate being in a war zone, but I also feel compelled to see if for myself," she says at one point in the trailer.
While the woman herself is impressive, so too is Pike's performance, based on what we've seen so far. (The actress previously was nominated for an Academy Award for 2014's "Gone Girl.") Watch the preview below.
The film also stars Jamie Dornan and Stanley Tucci, and it is directed by Matthew Heineman.
"A Private War" hits theaters opens Nov. 2.
